The Drowned Glass

At Shadowhill Academy, something is knocking under the ice.

Three weeks after the silent clock stopped, the lake begins to freeze in a perfect black circle, on nights that aren't cold enough for ice. Every night at 2:40, three knocks come from beneath it. Every night, the ice creeps closer to shore.
